Cubs Update - May 13th

The Cubs sit 2-1 after a sound game on Mother's Day .... a 10-4 win over Richmond. Great pitching from Lance Takacs, Brandon Armstrong and classic closer Taylor Koenig. Some timely hits and forced errors lead to some run production.
The team heads to Maple Ridge this weekend for the Twins Tourney and then next week to Gibsons. The Cubs next home game is Sunday June 3 at 2:00 pm
Hope to see you all out for some Junior Mens baseball !! Opening Day is this Sunday (April 29th)

This year is very exciting for the Cubs as they try to stay in the top 4 in the province of the Junior Mens division - they have the last 3 years and this year is NO exception. Rebuilding is always hard but the raw new talent that has come out is very exciting. New pitchers - Ethan Wiens, Ryan Martin, College returnee Brand Molder added to the wiley veterans Taylor Koenig, Cody Burke, Lance Takacs, Bobby Gulbranson and a new closer behemoth Josh Brink. Added to the solid defence lead by Ron Pole and Tyson Solotski as well as Jason Mitchell and the Vinette brothers - Chris and Matt.
The team is getting ready for a VERY successful season - starting with this Sunday at 2:00 pm.
Coaches Wayne Bampton and Tom Brink are looking forward to sunny weather and solid play from the Cubs in 2012. |
