UMPIRE FAQ'S

1. My child is interested in becoming an Umpire.?

Kids who are PeeWee age and higher are eligible to become Umpires. We host a 1 day course with training provided by the BC Baseball Umpires Association (BCBUA). This course takes place in early to mid-March and is no charge for members of Aldergrove Minor Baseball Association.

2. What equipment does my child require for Umpiring?

Each Junior Umpire is provided with a ball bag, indicator and plate brush after their Level 1 training is completed. Each Umpire is required to follow the Umpire Dress Code.

3. Game Scheduling?

Games are available for scheduling up to 2 weeks in advance. When you see a game displayed on the Umpire calendar online, click on it. If names are already assigned to the plate and base slots - that game is full. If the Plate or Base slots are empty, that game is available . To volunteer, email the scheduler at: umpires@aldergroveminorbaseball.com. You will be notified by a confirmation email when you have been assigned to a game. Please DO NOT request PLATE work only – you won’t get it, there are a lot of talented umpires in Aldergrove so just email your availability and leave it at that – we will take into consideration any BASE only requests but encourage all officials to be at the ready to work either.
